Агропромышленный комплекс (АПК) — это крупный комплекс, включающий такие отрасли хозяйства, которые принимают участие в производстве сельскохозяйственной продукции, он является одной из ведущих и главных отраслей экономики в Самарской области.
В Самарской области зарегистрировано около 500 крупных сельскохозяйственных предприятий, свыше 3000 крестьянско-фермерских хозяйств и более 1000 пищевых, перерабатывающих и агросервисных организаций. Также в Самарской области существует более 250 тыс. личных подсобных хозяйств, а сельскохозяйственным производством занято 55,8 тыс. человек.
В общероссийском производстве доля сельскохозяйственной продукции, производимой в Самарской области, составляет 2%, по Приволжскому федеральному округу — 7% [6].
