ENSURING THE ECONOMIC SECURITY OF THE TIMBER INDUSTRY COMPLEX BASED ON THE INTEGRATION OF DIGITAL FIREFIGHTING SYSTEMS AND INNOVATIVE REFORESTATION
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article investigates the problem of declining economic security in the timber industry complex due to the uncontrolled depletion of forest resources caused by wildfires and inefficient artificial reforestation. Based on the analysis of the forest fire situation, it is proved that pyrogenic impact causes direct financial damage to the industry and provokes an increase in cardiorespiratory diseases among the population. Systemic errors in current forest inventory practices have been identified, leading to the unjustified write-off of up to 48.8% of artificial plantations. To eliminate the loss of the resource base, the application of a complex of protective and resource-saving technologies is substantiated. The efficiency of using convolutional neural networks for fire prediction (accuracy over 85%), deploying swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles with fire-extinguishing balls for remote fire localization, and conducting transformation fellings that accelerate the formation of target coniferous stands by 10–15 years is proved. An organizational and economic mechanism has been developed that synchronizes the processes of remote monitoring, rapid firefighting, objective forest inventory, and silvicultural treatments. The functioning of the proposed mechanism prevents the transition of surface fires into catastrophic ones, stops the fictitious write-off of forest crops, and guarantees the sustainable reproduction of the resource base in the forestry sector of the economy
