The subject of the article is the justification of the mission and scale of the introduction of innovative activities and scientific and technological development. The problems of innovative and scientific and technological development are formulated. Goals/tasks. The purpose of the article is to study the development of innovative activities and scientific and technological development. Innovative development is a driver of a competitive economy. The task of the work is to substantiate the current processes that hinder effective innovative development. Hypothesis. Economic growth and technological sovereignty can be achieved through sufficient funding for scientific organizations and international-level research. The research methodology for the development of innovation activities and scientific and technological development is based on the analysis and synthesis of data, the dialectical and generalizing method, as well as the method of assumption and comparison of data. Conclusion/ The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that, based on the analysis of data on the development and financing of scientific institutions and the analysis of the main funds that could contribute to the effective development of scientific research, a critical assessment of the existing system for the development of innovation and scientific and technological development was made. The paper suggests the need to increase funding for innovative industries and scientific institutions in order to achieve economic growth and technological sovereignty.
